Light is a new home for innovation, creativity and hospitality in the artistic West End precinct of Adelaide’s CBD. Our vision is to be a place where people can explore and discover, be amazed and delighted, whether they are here for a performance in The Lab, an event in The Light Room or a meal in our award-winning restaurant, Aurora.

Founded in 2021 by philanthropists Nick and Sophie Dunstone, Light has already hosted hundreds of performances and private events in our beautiful heritage bluestone building. Whether you are planning an intimate and stylish wedding, a cocktail reception for 200 or a conference or networking event requiring cutting edge LED screen technology, we can help with any private function.

Our Spaces


Aurora is bringing fresh flavours, local produce and sustainability to the table to create memorable dining experiences and functions. Under the expert leadership of Head Chef Sam Cooper, Aurora delivers world-class cuisine that is both accessible and sophisticated. With an open kitchen featuring a purpose-built braai, guests are treated to a contemporary dining experience that exceeds international standards.

Designed by award-winning interior designer Georgie Shepherd, Aurora is a versatile venue suitable for a variety of events, including corporate functions, private dining, birthdays, engagements, weddings, and other celebrations. Aurora can be booked exclusively or for groups of 10 to 25, our private dining room is the perfect space for intimate dining experiences hidden behind a vibrant restaurant setting.

The Lab

A multi-functional, immersive space, The Lab has 50 square metres (that’s 14 million pixels!) of LED screens that can transport you and your guests to any world, real or imagined! The Lab can be configured in many different formats and features a stunning bar. Ideal for presentations, private functions, corporate functions, brand launches, celebrations, weddings and parties, The Lab can host seated dining for up to 70 people and cocktail events up to 160 people.

Outside The Lab is Beags, a stylish outdoor bar and dining area featuring timber booths and lush plantings. Start your event outside with welcome drinks or finish your event under the stars with a DJ in the booth spinning some favourite tunes.

The Light Room

The Light Room Bar

Upstairs at Light ADL is Adelaide's newest bar and event space that brings people together to celebrate, to connect and to explore.

Huge windows gaze out across the jacarandas into leafy Light Square, while inside the bluestone walls hint at more than a century of stories held by this amazing building. Recently renovated by award-winning interior designer Georgie Shepherd inspired by French elegance, with custom booths, bespoke lighting, an incredible marble bar, and curtain partitions to create secluded and intimate spaces.

The Light Room is the perfect space for your next event and can be partially or exclusively booked with the capacity to comfortably host 100 people for cocktail functions, weddings, private functions and corporate events.

The Light Room Gallery and Studio

The Light Room Bar leads through to our Gallery and Studio.

The Gallery is a blank canvas, our industrial themed space features pop up exhibitions from a range of artists and leads through to The Light Room's Studio, a unique space that offers full immersion amid 150 square metres of cutting edge LED screens. Transport your guests to any world, real or imagined.

Ideal for corporate conferencing, presentations and education sessions, private screenings, interactive/live streaming events or immersive experiences such as wine tastings, fashion launches or brand reveals. Our in-house tech team can work with you to produce exciting and engaging content using your material or ours.

With a maximum capacity of 100 people seated or standing, The Light Room Gallery and Studio can be booked exclusively or in addition to the Bar space to increase capacity and adds the element of an immersive experience to your next event that cannot be replicated elsewhere.

Our modern Australian menu is tailored to suit your particular needs and crafted by our award-winning Aurora Restaurant team.

Eat your way through our menu as best suits the event. Selected from elegant and delicious canapés for cocktail style events or our shared and tasting menu packages paired for flavour and balance for seated private functions.

Light takes pride in showcasing a range of outstanding wines from both local and international makers across our venues. We will be happy to recommend a selection of sparkling, white and red wines to suit your event and budget. We also offer a range of cocktails, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks.
