Light is a new home for innovation, creativity and hospitality in the artistic West End precinct of Adelaide’s CBD. Our vision is to be a place where people can explore and discover, be amazed and delighted, whether they are here for a performance in The Lab, an event in the Light Immersive Theatre or a meal in our award-winning restaurant, Aurora.

Founded in 2021 by philanthropists Nick and Sophie Dunstone, Light has already hosted hundreds of performances and events in our beautiful heritage bluestone building. Whether you are planning an intimate and stylish wedding, a cocktail reception for 200 or a conference requiring cutting edge LED screen technology, we can help.

Our Spaces


Supported by the pillars of sustainability, local produce and social responsibility, Aurora creates memorable dining experiences that nourish and engage. Menus celebrate local produce, seasonality and culinary excellence.

Led by innovative chef Brendan Wessels, Aurora is a world class dining experience in an award-winning space. Aurora is perfectly suited to corporate dining, weddings and other celebrations. Depending on the size of your event, Aurora can be booked exclusively or for smaller groups, our partially separated dining space is ideal.

The Lab

A multi-functional, immersive space, The Lab has 50 square metres (that’s 14 million pixels!) of LED screens that can transport you and your guests to any world, real or imagined! The Lab can be configured in many different formats and features a stunning bar. Ideal for presentations, corporate and brand launches and celebrations, weddings and parties, The Lab can host seated dining for up to 60 people and cocktail events up to 150 people.

Outside The Lab is Beags, a stylish outdoor bar and dining area featuring timber booths and lush plantings. Start your event outside with welcome drinks or finish your event under the stars with a DJ in the booth spinning some favourite tunes.

Level One (Coming Soon)

Upstairs at Light we have a cool bar space tucked behind the heritage façade. Huge windows gaze out across the jacarandas into leafy Light Square, while inside the raw bluestone walls hint at more than a century of stories held by this amazing building.

The bar can comfortably host 100 people for cocktails. This is an industrial chic blank slate just waiting for your styling and lends itself to light-based shows and minimalist decoration.

LIT–LED Immersive Theatre

At the rear of Level One is the unique Light Immersive Theatre, offering full immersion amid 150 square metres of cutting edge LED screens. Ideal for corporate presentations and education sessions, private screenings, interactive/live streaming events or immersive experiences such as wine tastings, fashion launches or brand reveals. Our in-house tech team can work with you to produce exciting and engaging content using your material or ours. Maximum capacity 100 people (seated or standing).

Something to Eat & Drink

Our modern Australian menu is tailored to suit your particular needs. For casual events, try our street food offerings such as sliders and fries. 

For more up-market events, select elegant and delicious canapés from the award-winning Aurora menu made using the finest local ingredients.

Dinners in Aurora or The Lab can choose from a range of options including canapés, shared or multi-course menus to suit any occasion. Light takes pride in showcasing a range of outstanding wines from both local and international makers across our venues. We will be happy to recommend a selection of sparkling, white and red wines to suit your event and budget. We also offer a range of cocktails, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks.

What Will It Cost?

We offer a sliding scale of minimum spends based on the time and day of the week you are looking to hold your event. The minimum spend incorporates your food and beverage costs. Each event is unique and we will work with you to come up with a quote that suits your budget.
